Slate Security helps you run authorized security scans on web apps and APIs, then review findings in the dashboard or export them through the CLI and API. Use the sidebar to browse every guide, or start from the paths below.

Start here

New to Slate Security? Create an account at app.slatesecurity.ai, add a target you are allowed to test, and run your first scan from the dashboard or terminal. The Quick start walks through both flows in a few minutes.

Prefer the terminal? Install the CLI with one command, then configure your API key:

curl -fsSL https://slatesecurity.ai/install.sh | bash

Continue with Configure & run.

Getting started

What Slate scans, what you need before your first run, and a step-by-step quick start in the dashboard or CLI.

CLI

Install the slate command, set your API key, run scans locally, and wire scans into CI pipelines.

MCP

Connect Slate to Claude, Cursor, or any MCP agent. Paste the install URL to get guided setup.

API

Authenticate with bearer API keys and create targets or start scans from your own tooling.

Product & billing

How targets, scans, and findings work in the app—and how plans, scan packs, and target slots are billed.

Choose your interface

  • Dashboard — add targets, watch scan progress, triage findings, and manage billing. Best for day-to-day use and sharing results with your team.
  • CLI — script scans from your laptop or CI (GitHub Actions, etc.) with the same findings as the app.
  • HTTP API — create targets and scans from internal tools or custom automation when you need programmatic control.

Security, support, and policies

We host standard deployments in the United States. Read Security & compliance for data location, authorized scanning, and disclosure. For billing examples (scan packs vs monthly allowance, target slots), see the FAQ. Something broken? Try Troubleshooting or contact us.
